About Us
The National Competence Centre in HPC
The National Competence Centre (NCC) for high-performance computing (HPC) serves as a reference and unified contact and coordination point in the fields of High Performance Computing (HPC), High Performance Data Analytics (HPDA), Quantum Computing (QC), and other state-of-the-art technologies. The mission of the NCC is to provide comprehensive services at the national level in these areas to end users—particularly from industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, public institutions, and academia.
The NCC offers services such as:
Expert technological consulting on specific applications of advanced technologies.
Connecting clients with experts possessing the necessary knowledge and experience in HPC.
Assistance with participation in calls for computing time or project funding.
Provision of training services, from basic courses to advanced programs.
Sharing information and opportunities about supercomputers and use cases.

Since its inception, the National Competence Centre, together with its partners, has achieved numerous successful collaborations and helped validate concepts with real business or societal impact.
Supercomputers and other advanced technologies have contributed to solving challenges in areas such as:
healthcare, mechanical engineering, energy, security, materials development, manufacturing, architecture and civil engineering, biotechnology, environment, and transportation.
WHY WORK WITH US?

Specialized professional training tailored to your needs.
In the Czech Republic, the National Competence Centre is operated by IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center. The NCC was established and operates under the umbrella of the European international EuroCC project, approved and financially supported by the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU). EuroCC brings together 33 European countries to jointly create and maintain a functioning network of national competence centres across Europe. These centres actively cooperate, raise awareness of high performance computing, share expertise, and help accelerate HPC competence building on both national and European levels.
The overarching goal of this comprehensive network is to position Europe among the world leaders in supercomputing, quantum, and other state-of-the-art technologies.
Both the first and second phases of the EuroCC project received financial support from the EuroHPC JU and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT). Until 2022, the project was also supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. Since 2023, EU support continues through the Digital Europe Programme.
